UE goes pink in collaboration with British Artist LUAP

From Thursday 30 May to Sunday 9 June, the University of Europe for Applied Sciences and British artist LUAP showcased a four-metre-high pink bear head, which served as a walk-in art installation, at the Altonale Cultural Festival in Hamburg.
The installation displayed works by UE students and LUAP himself and centred on themes of diversity and inclusion.
Additionally, on Thursday 6 June, UE hosted a neighbourhood celebration where UE invited guests, including partners, non-profit organisations, artists and museums, to a community celebration on campus. Around 100 participants were welcomed by Stefanie Wolpert, the Chairwoman of the Hamburg Altona District Assembly.
During this event, Sagi Hartov, CEO of GUS Germany GmbH, announced the ‘LUAP Pink Bear Scholarship’ with a total value of €250,000.
Another highlight of the neighbourhood celebration was a charitable art auction, the proceeds of which benefited two kindergartens in Altona. The auction featured bear-themed artworks created by children from neighbouring kindergartens, UE students and LUAP. Following the auction, two life-size pink bears captured attention as they led the ‘Pink Bear Walk’ from the campus to the exhibition site.
