UE Berlin hosts NFTE Event and Award Ceremony

This week, the University of Europe for Applied Sciences Berlin hosted 200 students and teachers from 17 countries to celebrate NFTE Germany’s 20th anniversary and kick off the YouthStart European Entrepreneurship Awards. Representatives from across GUS Germany were in attendance.
The event emphasised the value of entrepreneurial education for youth, with a jury that included Sagi Hartov, CEO of GGG, Professor Dr Kyrioakos Kouveliotis, Provost of BSBI, and Professor Dr Ramon O’Callaghan, President of Gisma University.
Founded in 1987, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) has impacted over a million learners, helping students from under-resourced communities develop entrepreneurial skills.
Professor Dr Sascha J. Flemnitz, Executive Chairman at UE and event organiser, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial thinking, stating: “By fostering initiative and problem-solving skills, we create opportunities for young people to become positive changemakers in their communities.”
Dr Jens Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary, endorsed the YouthStart programme, which offers student start-up grants of up to 1,000 euros.
