UCW and GDIP launch joint education programme in China

University Canada West and its partner, Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University (GDIP), have achieved approval from the Guangdong Provincial Education Authority in China to launch a Sino-Foreign Joint Education Program. It will focus on delivering a Chinese Diploma in International Business and will recruit 100 students annually from 2025 through China’s University and College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). After completing their studies at GDIP, students are expected to continue their degree studies at UCW.
This initiative aims to foster international academic cooperation by combining the strengths of both institutions, providing high-quality education, and attracting students interested in global learning experiences. UCW began developing the programme in late 2023, navigating a rigorous approval process that was particularly difficult for business disciplines.
Dr Annie Lu, Vice-President of China at Global University Systems noted: “This is an important beginning, marking UCW’s first joint programme with a Chinese university. The dedication of UCW leadership and departments made this achievement possible.”
