LCCM receives award and recognition at UK Music OMG Awards

On Thursday 2 May, Florian Bel, Campus & Venue Manager at the London College of Contemporary Music, won a Special Mention trophy at the prestigious UK Music OMG Awards 2024 for Outstanding Music Graduates at the Steel Street Venue in Liverpool.
The judges were impressed with Florian Bel, who founded JMNI, a creative agency for the music industry, working with labels, venues and artists, as well as being a multi-instrumentalist.
He said: “LCCM’s hands-on approach to education has been the best way for me to gain professional skills while studying and it’s a privilege to still be able to grow in this creative environment.”
LCCM’s Tara Noble, BMus Music Performance & Production and MMus Music Performance alumna, was also highlighted by the judges, who called her a “bass-wielding pop-metal front woman.” Tara delivers her own brand of empowerment under the mononym TASH.
She headlined The New Artist stage at All Points East in 2023 and has received radio support from Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Flavour’ on her hard-hitting single ‘Dead’.
Anthony Hamer-Hodges, LCCM Principal, said: “LCCM is the sector leader for graduate outcomes. Yet again our alumni and staff have been recognised and given a spotlight by the official trade body of the UK Music industry.”
Last year, Sahil Batra, BMus Music Performance & Production alumnus, also won a Special Mention at the awards and Patrick Cotton, Programme Leader of BMus Music and Performance at LCCM, won the inaugural MAP Tutor of the Year award while also achieving his FHEA – Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
