IBAT staff speak at ELT Ireland 10th anniversary event

On Saturday 10 February, several IBAT College Dublin staff members attended a celebration for English Language Teaching Ireland’s 10th anniversary. ELT Ireland celebrated its anniversary by bringing together people from all areas of the sector for a thought-provoking ELTed event, at the Teachers’ Club in Dublin.
ELT Ireland is a support network that fosters professional development in English language teaching through regular events held all over Ireland.
This event had special significance for IBAT, as four members of the English Language team at IBAT formed part of the exciting lineup of speakers. This included Beatrice Bartus, Senior Director of Studies at IBAT, Veronika Rogochaia, English Second Language Teacher at IBAT, Veronika Leigh, English Second Language Teacher at IBAT and Elizabeth Demine, staff member at IBAT.
In addition, IBAT staff have been elected to form part of the new ELT Ireland committee, including Beatrice Bartus as President, Veronika Rogochaia as Bulletin Editor, Levente Szolga-Tokes as Events Coordinator, and Elizabeth Demine as Membership and Communication Officer.
Several other IBAT staff members have also joined ELT Ireland as volunteers including Mara Temi, Aimilia Varla, Giulia Villa, and Victoria Galdeano.
Beatrice Bartus said: “Presenting at the ELT conference was both exhilarating and challenging, with educators from diverse countries and professional backgrounds, sharing innovative teaching strategies, and receiving valuable feedback enriched my perspective.
“The interactive discussions fostered a collaborative learning environment, emphasising the importance of continuous professional development in the field of language education. Taking over the helm of this beautiful organisation is a welcome challenge where we will be able to spread the passion for teaching and foster the sharing of ideas.”
