Gisma attends BMDA Conference and announces it will host 2025 edition

On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April, Gisma University of Applied Sciences’ leadership team attended the 22nd Annual Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) Conference held at The European Solidarity Center in Gdansk, Poland.
The conference, titled ‘Mastering the Future: AI Impact on Business Models and Practice’ brought together academics, business school leaders and corporate executives to discuss the transformative influence of AI and its impact on management practices across diverse industries, including higher education and the accreditation of academic institutions.
Professor Dr Ramon O’Callaghan, President of Gisma, Professor Dr Peter Konhäusner, Professor of Digital Entrepreneurship at Gisma Business School, and Mohammad Mahdavi, Professor at Gisma, represented the university.
During the conference, Ramon O’Callaghan was welcomed as a new Board Member of the Association and received a certificate of membership to the BMDA on behalf of Gisma at the gala dinner. As part of the programme committee, he also chaired the second day of the conference.
Ramon O’Callaghan said: “This was a truly inspiring conference. The quality of the speakers, the different perspectives, the participants’ interaction, the mix of conceptual talks and practical examples, all made it really a unique experience.”
A highlight of the conference was a keynote speech by Dipak Jain, Marketing Professor and former Dean at the Kellog School of Management in the USA, former Dean of INSEAD in France, former Dean of Sasin School in Thailand, and former President of CEIBS in China.
The conference also included a fireside chat with Lech Walesa, Nobel prize laureate and former President of Poland, and it was announced that Gisma will host the next BMDA conference in Potsdam and Berlin in 2025.
The BMDA is a leading organisation in developing global networks of academics, entrepreneurs and corporates, under the slogan ‘Bridging East and West’.
