The University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) offered 17 scholarships in collaboration with British artist LUAP.

The Pink Bear Project was a multifaceted initiative combining art, education, and community engagement. The 17 LUAP Pink Bear Scholarships, totalling €250,000, aimed to support diverse, talented individuals facing financial barriers as prospective students of UE. These scholarships were for undergraduate programmes and were open to EU and non-EU residents.

The project’s centrepiece, the Pink Bear Pavilion, was a 4-meter-tall walk-in installation made from recycled plastics

It served as a platform for community engagement, featuring works by UE students and alumni. By combining educational access, environmental consciousness, and cultural engagement, this campaign demonstrated a holistic approach that fostered both individual growth and community development.

This initiative stems from LUAP’s personal journey, where his Pink Bear artwork, representing a safe space, became a symbol of healing through creativity. The Pink Bear symbolises inclusion, tolerance, and diversity.

UE offered the following scholarships:
– 2 x 100% of the full tuition fee of the selected study programme
– 5 x 50% of the full tuition fee of the selected study programme
– 10 x 25% of the full tuition fee of the selected study programme

The scholarships were available to all undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) programmes across all faculties and all German campuses at UE.
