GISMA welcomes first students to new Berlin campus

GISMA welcomes first students to new Berlin campus

On Thursday 12 January, GISMA Business School was delighted to receive its first cohort of MBA and Masters in International Business students to the new campus on Potsdamerstrasse, Berlin.

This represents the next phase in the developing partnership between GISMA and Grenoble Ecole de Management, which is an exciting strategic development in international higher education and further differentiates GUS from its competitors.

The students were greeted by the Dean and senior faculty from GEM. In addition, Dean of GISMA Dr Steve Priddy gave a speech on his own reflections on the rise and fall of cities in a comparison of the changing fortunes of London and Berlin.

MBA and MIB students then had three days of induction and orientation. They hailed from nine different countries and a diverse range of professional backgrounds, and they all expressed great interest and excitement about studying in Berlin.

GISMA will be working closely with the students to link them with the vibrant Berlin start-up scene and other businesses, offering multiple meet-ups, company visits, in-house presentations, workshops, and networking events with a focus on connections and career advancement.

As Dr Priddy noted in his speech, in two or three decades’ time it is to be hoped that these students will look back on an inspirational learning and career enhancing experience despite challenging circumstances for those who aspire to internationalisation and widening access to higher education across borders.

In September 2017, GISMA will also launch two further programmes in partnership with GEM: an MSc in Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, and an MSc Marketing Management.

GISMA Executive Education has also been added to a growing portfolio of professional education and development programmes, and plans are underway for further expansion by launching other GUS institutions in Berlin – beginning in February with The Language Gallery.
