GUS Canada hosts launch event for UCW’s video series on Indigenous history

On Wednesday 10 April, Global University Systems Canada hosted a launch event at Parliament Hill in Ontario for University Canada West’s six-part educational video series ‘Understanding Indigenous History: A Path Forward’.

The exclusive launch event, attended by Members of Parliament, Senators and other high-profile guests, was opened by Cyndi McLeod, CEO of GUS Canada. Her prominent role highlighted the importance of this educational initiative and reinforced the commitment of influential figures to advancing these important discussions.

The series, hosted by Lisa LaFlamme, an award-winning broadcast journalist, features in-depth interviews with Phil Fontaine, a prominent First Nations leader and Kathleen Mahony, an internationally acclaimed human rights expert, and aims to deepen the understanding of Indigenous history and advance reconciliation in Canada.

GUS Canada supports this initiative and encourages everyone to engage with and share this series designed to connect Canada’s past with the present and pave the way for a more inclusive future.
